THE FULL STORY

Morris Plant Farm is a family-owned business that has been operating in the small community of Maxton, N.C. since 1919. It was established by Elisha Morris and his son Fairley Morris, who gave it the name E.Morris & Son Plant Farm.

We are known nationally for our trademark plant, the Morris Improved Heading Collard, informally known as the "cabbage collard". This collard was developed in the 1930's by Elisha and Fairley with help from NC State University. The Morris Improved Heading Collard, with its beautiful color and delicious taste, is our best seller. We actually still follow Elisha and Fairley's collard growing methods, which includes hand harvesting the seed every year.

Eric Morris and his brother Pete Morris are 4th generation Morrises that were raised on the farm. Both are still actively working on the farm. Eric works full time as owner/operator, and Pete works part time. Stewart and Kaitlyn Morris are 5th generation, and have been born and raised on the farm also. They work full time alongside their dad, Eric. They have been learning the ropes since before school aged, and are the future of Morris Plant Farm. Our family's love for this farm and the way of life it provides, is deeply rooted in all of our hearts. We can't imagine doing anything else.

We also love our community and strive to provide quality plants and seed, as well as customer service, to all of our customers. Some have been coming to see us since they were children, and it means so much to us to have their support and friendship. We hope you will check us out. If you're in the area, we would love to have you stop by to see us. If not local, then check out our site and see what catches your eye. Happy shopping!
